David has been a pastor at 2ND since March 2019. He led the Greenbrier campus from its launch in August 2021 until he was called to be the Lead Pastor of 2ND in June of 2024.
David holds degrees from Oklahoma Baptist University, Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He earned his Doctor of Ministry degree with an emphasis in Expositional Preaching from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2026.
He and his wife, Abby, grew up in Oklahoma and started dating in high school. They have served churches together since 2010 in Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas. Abby is an RN, and together, they have three children.
In his free time, David loves spending quality time with his family, playing ball with his kids, and cheering on their favorite teams (the Oklahoma Sooners, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Denver Broncos). The Raneys enjoy movie nights, grilling out, drinking good coffee, and exploring the Natural State by hiking, kayaking, and fishing.
